Children’s Picture Book Series on Exploring Children’s Development of a Balanced Identity

This paper elaborates the project of creating picture-book stories for two to five years old Indonesian children, which highlight issue identity development in children. Erik Erikson’s eight stages psychosocial will be theoretical framework this paper. In first and second story, main characters pass through crisis autonomy versus shame doubt. They have strict overprotective parents that caused them doubt themselves. However, by believing themselves taking an action, they passed developed a balanced identity. third, fourth, fifth initiative guilt. learn honest, forgive, let go. Each action has its own risk, but do right thing, successfully formed identity.Keywords: children picture-books, development, vs doubt, guilt,
